Solid Food

Gradually, the oatmeal and milk meals are replaced with normal food. This sounds easy at first, but it takes time, because the solid food is only a supplement at the beginning and your baby needs time to adjust to it. Most parents focus on one meal a day at first, but it is also possible to offer some solid food at every meal.

Challenge your baby’s curiosity, as most babies have the most fun when they are allowed to participate, and having fun also makes the transition much easier. Healthy finger foods are best for starters; little ones can feel them, taste them, and yes – squish them, too. It’s important that you only use foods that your baby can insalivate well and thus soak in. Some soft, low-salt whole grain bread without a crust, soft pasta or soft-boiled potatoes work very well, but avocado or steamed vegetables are also perfect to start with. You can also try soft fruit, such as banana, which many kids like.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, with a little patience you will easily find out what your baby likes best. It is important that you always give your baby something to drink between meals, water or unsweetened tea is best. Maybe the following recipes are also something for your baby:
