Gradually, the oatmeal and milk meals are replaced with normal food. Healthy finger foods are best for starters; little ones can feel them, taste them, and yes – squish them, too. It’s important that you only use foods that your baby can insalivate well and thus soak in. Some soft, low-salt whole grain bread without a crust, soft pasta or soft-boiled potatoes work very well, but avocado or steamed vegetables are also perfect to start with. You can also try soft fruit, such as banana, which many kids like.
